Finding a Comfortable Place

Normal

Means nothing good.

Why alter what you are?

Challenge the standards you live in.

You thrive.

Achieve a day where angsty youth

Oppose your new normal.

Fight against their

Struggle.

This week for Colleen’s Weekly Tanka Tuesday, I wrote a butterfly cinquain.  The words were ‘Change’ and ‘Defy.’  The synonyms I chose were bolded.

I liked the idea of having youth represented by the top part, whereas getting older and more stable is represented by the bottom.  “You thrive” is intended to say that both pieces of our adult lives are important and necessary for our souls, and every experience adds to our ability to thrive.
