Old bird songs whistle
Sun blossoms o’er horizon
To launch a new day

This was written for Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Tuesday # 118 – Begin and Fresh.  While I had planned on continuing my exploration of the Tanka through the end of January, I sensed that this prompt wasn’t calling for it.  These words wanted me to write something more natural, less about self, and so I did a haiku.
