Walkies – #Senryu

Dogs frolic on hikes.
Humans withstand the pastime.
At least floors stay clean.

This was written for Colleen’s Tanka Tuesday #129, Hobby and Play.  Synonyms are in bold.

Since it was puppy day recently, I chose to write about my dog Hector.  He’s very bad on his walks because he has a complex where he believes he must be the alpha of all dogs, including those that bark from inside houses or can be seen from 1/4 mile away.  We’ve hired trainers to help us, but he’s a little rascal taking his sweet time getting better!

  1. That’s right! You love Pomeranians, too! Sadly, both of my beloved girls are gone. I did have a rare, all black male Pom years ago, too. I’ve always called them, “Big, little dogs.” Their personalities are larger than life, for sure. My Spice was “queen, of the wild backyard.” While, Sugar, was the exact opposite. She loved cuddly blankets and never wanted to go outside. LOL! Great take on the prompt words, and bravo to Hector! ❤

    1. I think Poms are very vibrant little dogs, and they’re perfect for someone who wants a dog experience but lives in a suburban or urban environment. I also was probably influenced by our poms growing up, so I’m horribly biased.
