Pollen – #Haiku

green leafed tree under blue sky

Pines send pale green love
To bless the Earth every spring
Regret not this gift.

Ah, my weekly poetry fix will have a different flavor until the end of the month!  Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Tuesday is on a well-deserved Sabbatical, but she still encourages weekly syllabic poems.

The pollen season is still going on here, but the stream of near-nightly rains has kept the pine pollen from being snow as of late.  Instead, it’s turned into puddles of pale-green pollen.  A bit more disgusting, but less harmful for one’s health.  Horticultural sexism, anyone?

  1. Pollen can be a problem. There is a brief window where the heat is off that I can open windows –
family with allergies requires conditioned air.

    1. I am fairly allergic to cats, but I once had a roommate with a cat and this big ol’ honkin air purifier that worked wonders on keeping it all dander-free. So I see where they’re coming from!
