Let joy stain your soul.
This was written for Colleen Chesebro’s Tanka Tuesday #161, a photo prompt. Henna tattoos interest me in that it’s a tattoo without needles.
That is truly lovely!
Thanks! I have always thought henna was interesting and the hands looked kind of lacy.
It is and they do.
A great poem, H. I liked the positiveness.
I can pull a little happiness out once in a while!
What a lovely image of joy staining the soul! I love it, HRR.
Thank you! Stains are often good – like when we stain floors. I liked how our usual association with “stain” as bad can be turned on its head!
I agree with you on the usual association with stain. But early on, I used different shades of stain for furniture or floor painting so I’m neutral with the concept now.
Whoa, look at the detail on those hands! Good poem.:-)
The photo chosen by Willow Willers was a great prompt! Thanks for stopping by!
Wonderful response to the prompt..
Thank you!
I like the word choice of stained… there are so many connotations to that word. That last line is like a song! Well done! ❤
Thank you! I liked the way “stain” has bad connotations, but we really shouldn’t give the word such a bad rap! 🙂
LOL! I do like that connotation too. Stained as a woman, stained as a wife. All kinds of interesting ways to look at that word.
What a lovely poem. You turned the word “stained” upside down. Beautiful, my friend.
Thank you! I liked yours too!
